Through eighth grade you wondering about all the possibility's for high school. What is the schedule like, were will you sit at lunch and who are some of the new people you might meet. You cant help but wonder how much your life will be changed by those two words..high school. Some things make you nervous and others make you excited. When I was in eighth grade my worst fear was mixed lunches, I though "Oh great, I'm going to be alone" or "Who will I sit with?" I was also under the impression that all upper class men were mean. Which thankfully isn't the case, because when you meet them they become your best friends. Ibelieve high school opens new doors.
High school lets you try, and see new things. New sports teams, new people and all new classes that the middle schoolers didn't even know existed. Its something new and great. Like this year, my freshman year I tried out for the tennis team. Practice was a week or two before school so I didn't know who was going to be there, plus I only knew a couple sophomores. When I got there I saw no one I knew. But then I started to talk to a senior and a junior and made new friends, great people which made me at ease with meeting more people like them. I never would have met those people if it wasn't for that high school team.Also there's all new classes you can take, might give you more ideas to what you want your profession to be. Like one of the things that I was considering having a career in is theater or drama. I love acting, its a stress reliever for me, so when I saw they had a theater class that everyone said was such a fun and interesting class I took it on. And even though the class is great it helped me see acting is not something I want to really pursue as a career. There's all kinds of classes, home economics, environmental, fashion, marketing, almost anything that you would want to try, another great thing high school provides. Another positive is you get to be yourself, which means you don't have to pretend to be anyone. You can wear the funky clothes you like to wear, or keep up with the latest trends you can probably guarantee that there's someone there that likes to dress thesame, and by showing that's who you are you will find your friends. When your in high school your forming your own, its opening those doors an all we have to do is walk through the right ones. Its not the time to care what other people think or constantly worrying about what other people are doing its time to build you up to who you want to be. For some, the beginning of their life starts their senior year. High school is one of the greatest things you will experience in life. It will help you succeed if you let it. It will also help make some amazing memories with friends maybe even rewards and scholarships. Embrace it and enjoy it. I believe high school opens new doors.
